Momentum Staking Guide:
High Yields & Points with a Solana-Linked DeFi Project!

According to Momentum’s Medium page, a post from February 2025 indicates that the project is gearing up for full-scale farming and building. Beyond the Sui Foundation, prominent investors like Coinbase Ventures and Aptos Foundation are backing it, drawing significant attention.
What is the ve(3,3) Model?
Momentum adopts the ve(3,3) model, operating under the motto, “If you don’t sell, everyone profits.” However, past projects using the ve(3,3) model have often seen initial price pumps followed by accelerated selling, leading to a return to the original price. For example, a token starting at $1 might spike to $1,000, prompting sales that eventually bring the price back down.
Despite this, Momentum stands out with its high yield rates and airdrop points. It’s currently in the LFG Phase (starting March 31 for 12 weeks), offering additional boosters and points.
Getting Started with Momentum Staking
Momentum offers high yields and points through liquidity provision (LP). Here’s a step-by-step guide to my staking process:
1. Complete Galxe Quests
Momentum is running quests on the Galxe platform, where you can earn extra points by completing tasks.
- Login & Social Media Linking: I linked Twitter, Discord, and Telegram to claim 1,000 points.
- Quest Types: I completed daily, weekly, and monthly quests.
- Tip: Galxe quests update regularly, so check back often to complete new ones.
2. Connect Sui Wallet & Set Nickname
- Wallet Connection: Visit the Momentum official website and click “Connect Wallet” to link your Sui Wallet.
- Nickname Setup: Set a nickname upon first login to enable trading and liquidity provision.
3. Trade: Prepare SUI and USDC
Since I didn’t have any Sui assets, I bought SUI and swapped a portion into USDC.
- Swap Process:
- Swapped SUI for USDC in Momentum’s Trade section.
- Slippage: Set to around $3, with a price impact of 0.25%.
- Momentum’s pools are relatively small, so slippage can be high. However, trading here earns points, so it’s worth comparing with other platforms—if it’s better, trade here!
4. Liquidity Provision: Stake in the SUI-USDC Pool
- Pool Selection: The SUI-USDC pool currently offers a 335% APR, which is quite high.
- Deposit Ratio:
- I set USDC to the maximum, but only part of my SUI was used. The deposit ratio came out to SUI 44.5%, USDC 55%.
- I recommend swapping more SUI to balance the ratio.
- Range Setting:
- I set a ±20% range, resulting in a 195% APR.
- A full range yields 27% APR, but narrower ranges increase the APR.
- Since SUI is an altcoin with high volatility, a ±20% range should be sufficient.
- Deposit Complete: I deposited a total of $2,000 and confirmed the “Liquidity Success” message.
5. Position Management
- Check your deposits in the My Position tab.
- I added more SUI to balance the ratio, finalizing my $2,000 deposit.
- Claim Yields: You can claim yields daily or rebalance your position as needed.
My Thoughts on the Process
With a $2,000 deposit, I’m ranked 199th in TVL. This shows Momentum is still a “low-competition” opportunity—depositing $1,000–$2,000 can easily place you in the top ranks.
Momentum’s Potential and Participation Tips
Momentum is considered a high-potential project in the Sui ecosystem, having secured significant investments. The ongoing LFG Phase (March 31 for 12 weeks) rewards TVL deposits and trading volume with extra boosters and points, making now a great time to join.
Participation Tips
- Safe Staking Strategies:
- To reduce volatility, deposit 100% USDC (all stable).
- To hedge SUI, go for 100% SUI.
- A mixed approach like mine (SUI and USDC) is also a good option.
- Range Setting: SUI’s volatility is high, so a ±10% range can yield up to 300% APR. However, you’ll need to reset if the price moves out of range.
- Point Farming: Actively use Galxe quests and trades to accumulate points.
Risk Consideration
The ve(3,3) model carries the risk of a price pump followed by a drop, so it’s crucial to steadily claim yields and points to manage your position.
